A more caring climate at MIT

The 2013 and 2017 Student Quality of Life surveys include a unique bank of questions asking students to rate the dimensions of the MIT climate on opposing dimensions, including Hostile to Friendly; Dangerous to Safe; and Impersonal to Caring. Compared to 2013, respondents in 2017 were more likely to rate the climate at MIT as friendly, caring, and safe, with significantly higher means for undergraduate and graduate students.
